The Castle of Monterinaldi, located in the commune of Radda in Chianti, lies at the heart of the oldest historical area of the Chianti Classico region. Since 1961, the Ciampi family has been its dedicated custodians. The estate spans fifty-five hectares, encompassing eighteen single vineyards and thirty-eight distinct terroirs. It is home to a diverse range of grape varieties, including multiple clones of Sangiovese, alongside Canaiolo, Colorino, Malvasia Nera, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Gamay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malvasia Bianca, Trebbiano, and Chardonnay—all planted at a density of 5,000 vines per hectare.

Monterinaldi transitioned to organic management, achieving certification in 2017. A steadfast commitment to tradition remains a guiding principle, with the goal of expressing Chianti Classico in its most authentic form. However, the estate also embraces modern technology to enhance quality while preserving the wine’s classic characteristics. Aging takes place in a combination of French oak tonneaux and barriques, followed by bottle maturation for six months to two years in the estate’s historic underground cellar, an ideal environment for refinement.
